Thomas "Tommy" D. Williams Jr.

Thomas “Tommy” Williams Jr., 62, of Bass River Township, NJ passed away on July 19, 2023. Born in Lakewood, NJ, Tommy was a lifelong area resident. Tommy was a retired police Lieutenant for the Little Egg Harbor Police Department.  He was involved in numerous community organizations and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and the outdoor life. He had a strong conviction to God and his country and was committed to his family and community.

Tommy was predeceased by his parents Thomas Sr. and Joan Williams, and baby sister Valerie.

He is survived by the love of his life, his wife Margaret Adele Williams, son Thomas Williams lll, daughter Brittany Williams, daughter Jillian Williams, daughter Christina Hedgepeth (Jason), daughter Melissa Penk (Bobby Nunn), sister Cindy Cranmer (Steve), sister Dee Gilliam, sister Dorrie Pedalino (Ray), grandchildren Riley, Amelia, Liam, Kylie, and Jordyn, numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives, friends whom he cherished, god children Melissa and Erin, his mother-in-law Joan Cochrane “Granny” whom with he shared a very special bond, and his father’s wife Dolores.

Visitation will be held on Sunday July 23^rd, 2023 from 2-5pm and again on Monday July 24, 2023 from 10-11am with a funeral service immediately following at Maxwell Funeral Home 160 Mathistown Road Little Egg Harbor, NJ 08087. Cremation will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Tommy’s memory to the Temple Lung Center Temple University - Temple Health Giving – Temple University Health System Giving. A special thank you to Dr. Marchetti, Mary Chris Duff, Karen Steinke, and the entire transplant staff at Temple Lung Center.
