Stephen Gregory Allocco, 78, passed away at home on Sunday, September 15th, 2024 surrounded by his loving family.
Stephen was born on February 9th, 1946 in New York City. He grew up in Long Island, NY with his 2 younger siblings, Kenny and Karen, and his mother and father Elizabeth and Stephen Sr. He was a loving older sibling and son. He lived a simple life working for his father’s lumber yard and had big dreams beyond that.
Stephen's dreams of becoming a jet pilot led him to New Jersey. While working in Atlantic City, Stephen met his wife Mei Ling in 1983. The meeting was no accident, and the love they had lasted the test of time. Mei Ling moved to the United States from Hong Kong to marry Stephen. 2 years later they had their first daughter, Kimberly, and the family grew 6 years later when they welcomed their son, Kamen. Stephen continued working in the casinos and made many friends along the way.
Stephen was a man of many talents. He was a builder, a fisherman, a boater, and not many people know this; he was also a very talented violinist. But the most important roles he had were husband and father. He loved and cherished his family. In 2022, he became a Pop Pop to his grandson Ozzie, and nothing in the world brought him more joy.
Stephen was a kind, thoughtful and generous person. He was a religious, church going man who took pride in his role in the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed volunteering at the church and the local food pantry. He was a good neighbor and friend to many, and he will be missed tremendously by his friends and family. We know that he is in heaven, eating his chicken parmesan sandwich, chatting everyone's ears off, and looking down on us with a big smile on his face.
Survivors include his wife, Mei Ling, his daughter Kimberly and her husband Steven, his son Kamen and his cherished grandson Ozzie.
