Stanley P. Piesla, 92 of Little Egg Harbor passed away on Thursday September 3, 2015 at Southern Ocean Medical Center, Manahawkin. He was born in Brooklyn, NY and lived in Bloomfield, NJ before retiring to Little Egg Harbor 28 years ago. Stanley served in the US Army during World War II with the 576th Field Artillery Battalion, he worked and retired from the US Postal Service and also worked as a machinist for Sperry Corp, working on landing gear for the Huey Helicopter. He was a communicant of St. Theresa's R.C. Church and was in the Founders Club at the Terraces in Little Egg Harbor. He enjoyed collecting stamps and coins, bowling, gardening, dancing and playing the harmonica and was a talented boxer and gymnast.
He was predeceased by his brother Walter Piesla.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 26 years Annie Piesla, sons Stanley Piesla Jr. (Catherine) of Columbus, GA, Thomas Piesla (Kathleen) of Bloomfield, NJ, Michael Piesla of Queens, NY, John Gartland (Lynn) of Charlotte, NC and Billy Gartland (Sara) of South Dakota, daughters Kathleen Pelc (Peter) of Queens, NY, Anne Chetron (Alan) of South Carolina, Debbie Johnsen of California and Patty Gartland of San Diego, CA, grandchildren Claire, Jillian, Andria, Megan, Victoria, Beth, Kim, Kim, Christian, Alex, Ryan, Tommy, James, Joe, Eddie, Neil, Chad and Justin and 15 great grandchildren.
Viewing hours will be held on Tuesday September 8, 2015 from 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm and Wednesday September9, 2015 from 9:30 to 10:30am at Maxwell Funeral Home 160 Mathistown Rd Little Egg Harbor, NJ 08087. A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday September 9, at 11:00am at St. Theresa's Church, Little Egg Harbor followed by interment at Brig. Gen Wm. C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown.
