Sandra S Smith

Sandra S. Smith, 82, of Little Egg Harbor, New Jersey received her place in Heaven’s choir on Sunday February 6, 2022.  Sandi was a proud graduate of Sussex High School, Westminster’s Choir College, and Hollins University.  Her career spanned several decades of teaching vocal and choral music in Sussex, New Jersey and Roanoke, Virginia.  She retired in 2005.

Sandi also served several churches as an organist and minister of music; she was a member of the Lacey United Methodist church where she participated in the choir and praise team.

Sandi was pre-deceased by her parents, Howard and Margaret Roome Strait, her sister, Phyllis Young, and her husband, H. David Smith.  

She is survived by her daughter, Melanie, daughter-in-law Julie Colvin-Walsh and grandchildren Allex Carr, Kaylee Jo Carr, Shannon Smith, and Amanda Smith; nephew Michael LaPorta (Alice), nieces Teri Norris (Dusty), Peggy LaPorta, Sally LaPorta, and Sandee Barnwell (Brian).  Sandi was loved and will be dearly missed by her friend and care-giver Dawn Slate of Little Egg Harbor, and many dear friends in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Virginia.
