Robert “Bob” Stanely Kowalik, 78, born in Nutley NJ passed peacefully in his sleep on the morning of November 7th in Atlantic City NJ.
He is survived by his loving and dedicated wife of 57 years Eleanor Kowalik, who never left his side. His daughter Deanna Adamo and her husband Joseph, and two sons Christopher and his wife Christina and Michael Kowalik who fought valiantly for his life. He was so loved by his 7 amazing grandchildren Sophia, Lyla, Harley, Nick, Matthew, Mason and Christoper.
Bob was a graduate of Rutgers University and a longtime resident of Long Valley, NJ where he served on the First Aid squad for many years. Bob was a salesman and road warrior his whole life. He drove the entire East Coast on a regular basis and would not think twice about driving to New Hampshire for the day, he always wanted to come home to his family. Bob loved football, the beach, fishing, volunteering as an EMT and being a husband, Dad and a Pepa.
Bob will always be remembered as a kind and loving man, who loved a good joke and to make others smile. He was always willing to lend someone a hand, talk to a stranger and always say “thank you”. He was a dedicated and caring husband, and father his whole life to two wild boys and his little girl. Bob will always be remembered for alerting his family when bad weather was rolling in or when food was recalled. He went to great lengths to keep his family safe. In his final days he was chasing people home from the hospital so they would be safe.
Bob spent his final evening surrounded by his loving family and listening to Frank Sinatra. They tucked him in, he told everyone he loved them and went peacefully to sleep.
Bob will be greatly missed by his family and friends, but he was greeted with open arms in Heaven by loved ones that left before him.
Dad - have a scotch and relax, the fight is over. Rest easy Bob- we will see you soon.
