Richard H. Bowen

BOWEN, RICHARD H. – 1943 – 2024

On Friday, January 12th, Richard “Richie” Bowen passed away peacefully at the age of 80 years old. He was the beloved husband of Suzanne (nee Muller) for 29 years. Loving father of Lisa Swankoski (Steven) and Donna Gordon (David), Egg Harbor Twp., NJ, and Gregory Bowen (Susanne) of Doylestown, PA.

Richard was born and raised in Pleasantville, New Jersey, the son of Francis “Bud” and Helen Bowen. He attended Pleasantville High School, graduating in 1962. He played many sports in school, including baseball, football and track. He was an avid golfer and once had the opportunity to go Pro when he worked at the Linwood Country Club.

He embarked on a career at Lenox China in Pomona, New Jersey, from which he retired as Manufacturing Manager after 43 years, where he was very well respected for his knowledge and people skills. He was a member of the Lenox Bowling League and eventually scored a perfect 300 game. He enjoyed his many years of retirement traveling, boating and, most of all, touring the countryside on his motorcycle.

Richard’s devotion to family was a true blessing. Left to cherish so many wonderful memories made with their “Pop-Pop” and “Poppy” are Tyler Wolfe, Cole Gordon, Jenna, Katelyn and Kyle Pashley, Drew, Jay, Matthew and Caroline Bowen. “Pop-Pop” no doubt received a long-awaited reunion with Grandson, Zachary Wolfe.

Richard was predeceased by his parents, as well as his sister, Joanne Patch Boggan, and brother, William Bowen. He is survived by his sister, Barbara Weber of Egg Harbor Township, NJ, sister-in-laws, Kathryn Comperatore and Geraldine Muller, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Visitation on Friday, January 19th from 1-3 pm, Maxwell Funeral Home, 160 Mathistown Rd., Little Egg Harbor, NJ. Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, January 20th at 11am, The Church of St. Theresa, 450 Radio Road, Little Egg Harbor, NJ.
