Philomena ""Phyllis"" Ciuffreda (nee Cianci), of Manahawkin, NJ passed away on Friday, February 13, 2015 at home, surrounded by her family. Born in Peekskill, NY, she then lived in Brooklyn, N.Y., residing in Carteret before moving to Manahawkin in 1998. Both Philomena and her husband Pat were co-owners of the Brass Bucket Restaurant in Woodbridge, NJ, for 15 years before retiring in 1996. She was a devoted daughter, wife, mother and grandmother. She was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church of Brant Beach NJ and a past member of Spray Beach Yacht Club.
She is predeceased by her husband Pat and her parents Dominick and Madeline Miozzi Cianci.
Philomena is survived by her two daughters; Laura Attardi of Cedar Run and her husband Jeff and Patricia Ciuffreda-Ghammachi of Redondo Beach, Ca., and her husband Danny; her cousin Catherine Petrillo or New York City and her five grandchildren; Amanda and Jeffrey Attardi and Jakob, Justin and Luke Ghammachi.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 19 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. at Maxwell Funeral Home, 573 Mill Creek Rd Manahawkin, NJ 08050. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, February 20, 10:30am at St Francis of Assisi Church, Brant Beach, followed by entombment at St Gertrude's Cemetery, Colonia section of Woodbridge. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in her memory to St Francis of Assisi Church, 4700 Long Beach Boulevard, Brant Beach, NJ 08008.
