Nancy Layhen

Nancy Marcell Layhen, 90 of Little Egg Harbor, New Jersey passed away on Friday, September 13th, 2024. Born in Newark, NJ, she owned houses in Long Beach Island and Manahawkin before settling in her home in Little Egg Harbor, where she resided for 31 years. She was a lifelong member of the Screen Actors Guild and worked as a model appearing in many notable television and print advertisements including Breck, Kraft, and Phillip Morris. Nancy was a communicant and Eucharistic minister at Saint Theresa's Roman Catholic Church in Little Egg Harbor. She had a strong devotion to the Blessed Mother and the Rosary. Nancy's favorite hobbies included painting and caring for animals, At one time, she was also the proprietor of a pet grooming business.

She is predeceased by her parents Francis and Anna Marcell, her devoted husband of 46 years, John (Jack) Layhen, brothers Charles (wife, Madeline), Francis (wife, Alyce), Joseph(wife, Julie), Donald, Andrew (wife, Dolores), Jimmy, her nephew, Frank and beloved friend Maureen Murphy. She is survived by her loving nieces and nephews Kenneth, Jacqueline, Francis A, Patty, Charles, Michelle, Denise, and Andrew Shawn. 

Family and friends are welcome to attend a celebration of Nancy's life on Thursday September 19th, 2024, beginning with a recitation of the Rosary at 10:30am, followed by an 11:00am Catholic Mass at Saint Theresa's Church, 450 Radio Road, Little Egg Harbor, NJ 08087. The Mass will be immediately followed by a mausoleum entombment at Greenwood Cemetery in Tuckerton, NJ.
