Myrna Hendricks

Myrna Hendricks, 86 of Little Egg Harbor, NJ officially earned her wings and crossed over to reunite with her daughters once again on Wednesday October 13th, 2021. Born in Paterson, NJ, Myrna spent time living in Northern New Jersey before moving and planting roots in Little Egg Harbor over 50 years ago. 

Myrna a.k.a. “Cart Lady” worked in the cafeteria at the George Mitchell Elementary School for many years where she touched a ton of hearts with her sugary snacks and big hugs from the cart lady. 

She loved working for the school, spending time with the kids every day and watching generation after generation of students grow over the years and become parents themselves. 

Myrna gained friendships with countless coworkers, whom she missed dearly after her retirement.

Myrna formed a tight bond with a handful of her coworkers from George Mitchell and they became extended family to her. She truly loved, appreciated and cherished these special friendships and was beyond grateful for all of the love, support and happiness that her friends brought her over the years. 

Myrna loved cooking, but she especially loved cooking for the holiday season and would often start preparations months ahead of time driving her family batty discussing Christmas Eve’s 7-Fishes dinner during 4th of July Celebrations! 

She adored any occasion that brought a houseful of her family together with Myrna preparing everything from scratch and singing “Fly Me To The Moon” in the kitchen  the whole time just soaking it all in and loving every minute of it. 

Myrna was diagnosed with breast cancer in the early 90’s and fought hard to battle that beast. She won her battle and conquered breast cancer remaining in remission for over 25 years!

Myrna was predeceased by her parents Peter & Alice Botbyl, husband Joseph Hendricks and daughters Kim Jackie Palmer & Jill Whitesell, Brother Jack Botbyl, and Nephews, John & Sean Botbyl.

She is survived by her loving sons Joseph Hendricks, Daughter In Law, Barb both of Little Egg Harbor, NJ, Shane Hendricks of Little Egg Harbor, NJ and Mark Hendricks & family of Egg Harbor City, NJ, sister Lorraine (John) Valardi of Little Egg Harbor, NJ, brother Peter Botbyl (Patricia) of North Jersey, Sister In Law, Joann Botbyl of Mays Landing, NJ, Nephew, Wade Botbyl (Heather) & family of Mays Landing, NJ, Niece, Patricia Botbyl & family of Mays Landing, NJ, Grandson, Zackary Whitesell of Little Egg Harbor, NJ, Granddaughter, Kimberly Rosetti & family of Little Egg Harbor, NJ, Grandson, Joseph Hendricks of Little Egg Harbor, NJ, Grandson, Christopher Palmer Sr. (Stephanie) and the two apples of her eye, Great-Grandsons, Christopher Palmer Jr. & Cayson Palmer, all of Mays Landing, NJ.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday October 20th, 2021 from 10am until her Funeral Service at 12pm at Maxwell Funeral Home 160 Mathistown Rd Little Egg Harbor, NJ 08087. Cremation will be held privately.
