Maryann Louise O'Neill

Maryann L. O’Neill, 82 of Little Egg Harbor, NJ passed away on Wednesday February 7^th, 2024. Maryann was born, raised, and lived in Philadelphia, PA until 1993 when she moved to Manahawkin, NJ and lived there until she moved to Little Egg Harbor, NJ in 2017. Maryann retired as a tax examiner for the IRS and was very active in both her Sunrise Bay Community and St. Theresa’s Church. She was a member of the Peaceful Shores Quilt Association and the past president of the Mallard Island Civic Association. Maryann would help with the AARP income tax for the elderly and disabled program to help folks file their taxes who could not go out and get them done. She was an avid quilter and enjoyed sewing, reading, and spending time with her family. She also volunteered for over 25 years at Southern Ocean Medical Center sewing puppets for the children.

Maryann was predeceased by her parents William and Mary Schwartz.

She is survived by her loving husband James “Jim” O’Neill of 59 years, son Michael O’Neill and wife Lisa of Brick, NJ, daughter Coleen Dougherty and husband David of Punta Gorda, FL, sister Joan Stenaka and husband Leo of Delaware, grandchildren Timothy Dougherty and wife Jessica, Erin O’Neill and Emily Dougherty, great-granddaughter Violet Dougherty and her nieces and nephews.

 Cremation will be private and interment of ashes will take place at a later date.
