Margit Hildegard Meissner-Jackson

Margit passed away on November 22, 2022 at 85 years old. Born in Berlin, Germany to Otto Meissner and Hildegard Meissner (Nee Bruggemann) sister of Hannelore Schmidt (Nee Meissner). Margit married Joseph North Jackson Jr. in 1959, while Mr. Jackson was in the United States Army. They had three children; Joseph H. 1960, Richard A. 1961-1993, and Margit G 1963.

Margit was active in the local PTA while Joseph, Richard, and Margit were in grade school. Margit was an active member in Amnesty International for many years. Margit was also active in Green Peace and more recently the Sierra Club of Ocean County. Mrs. Jackson was president of the West Creek Cemetery Association from 1999-2013. She was also a seamstress for many years. Mrs. Jackson graduated from Ocean County College with an Associates Degree in Foreign Languages in 2010.

Mrs. Jackson was a loving mother of three children, a loving grandmother of eight, and a loving great grandmother of seven.

Visitation will be held Monday November 28, 2022 from 2-4pm at Maxwell Funeral Home 160 Mathistown Road Little Egg Harbor, NJ 08087.
