Lillian M. Klem

Lillian M. Klem 99, answered the call to glory on June 8th, 2015. She lived a long, prayerful and very giving life. She was born and lived the first half of her life in north Jersey, moving south to Tuckerton in 1961. She was a devout Roman Catholic, a third order Dominican and was an active member of St. Theresa's in Tuckerton for over 50 years.
She was predeceased by her loving husband, Fred, her beloved daughter, Arlene, and all of her siblings: George Colby, Emily Weiss, Frank Colby, Elma Anderson, Georgiana Costello, James Colby, Louis Colby, and Jeanne Ashanky. She left to mourn her passing her daughters: Eleanor Robertson (Francis) of Vineland, Loretta Schuck of Manchester, and Elizabeth Klem (Ed Federenko) of Galloway. She also leaves behind many dear nieces and nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. She will be missed and her memory will be cherished by all who knew her.
Lillian was always busy, only retiring at the age of 83. She worked since the 1970s as a bookkeeper for, first, St. Theresa's Church in Tuckerton, then St. Justin's in Toms River, and St. Pius's Church in Forked River. She enjoyed baking, gardening, singing and feeding the birds but mostly relished the time spent with family. She frequented the Dynasty Diner in Tuckerton and always insisted on picking up the check. In the last year she also loved her grand dog, Emily, and will be sorely missed by that pup.
Viewing will be held on Thursday June 11, 2015 from 7 to 9pm and Friday from 9:30 to 10:30am at Maxwell Funeral Home 160 Mathistown Rd Little Egg Harbor, NJ 08087. A Funeral Mass will be on Friday June 12 at 11:00am at St Theresa's R.C. Church, Little Egg Harbor followed by burial at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover, NJ.
