Lenore Sullivan, 85, of Little Egg Harbor, NJ, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family after a brief illness on Monday, November 18, 2024. Lenore was born in South Hampton, NY, raised in Sag Harbor, NY, and then lived for many years in Nutley, NJ, before moving to Little Egg Harbor, NJ, in 2006. Lenore enjoyed a career as an infant care specialist at the NY Foundling Hospital and later as a bookkeeper for many years. She was a wonderful home maker who enjoyed being active in her Sea Oaks Community, gardening, playing Words with Friends, shelling on Captiva Island, FL, cooking and baking.
Lenore was predeceased by her parents William and Anne Ewers.
She is survived by her loving husband, John, of 61 years, sons, Dennis Sullivan and wife, Merry, of Metuchen, NJ, Robert Sullivan and wife, Christine, of Venice, FL, and Thomas Sullivan and wife, Elizabeth, of Toms River, NJ, sister, Geraldine Scott, and husband, Steve, of Annapolis, MD, twin brother, Lionel Ewers, and wife, Pam, of Killorglin, Ireland, grandchildren, Breanne Cook, Kevin, Brian, Sean and Brett Sullivan and great-grandchildren Ryker and Logan Cook, along with many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 22, 2024, from 2-4pm and 7-9pm and on Saturday, November 23, 2024, from 9:30-10:30am at Maxwell Funeral Home, 160 Mathistown Rd., Little Egg Harbor, NJ 08087. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at 11am at St. Theresa’s Church, 450 Radio Rd., Little Egg Harbor, NJ 08087. Cremation will be private and an interment of ashes will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) at www.chop.edu or to St. Jude Children’s Hospital at www.stjude.org.
