Josephine DiGiovanni

Josephine ""Jo"" DiGiovanni, age 81, passed away peacefully Tuesday November 21, 2018 at Southern Ocean Medical Center.  She was born on May 7, 1937 in Jersey City and grew up in Newark where she met her husband Angelo.  They raised a family together in Bloomfield and she remained married by his side for 61 years.  They moved to Little Egg Harbor where she enjoyed the final years of her life living on the water and spending time with her family.  A loving wife, mother and grandmother, she had a strong will and love of life.  She was an amazing cook, known for her meatballs and spinach pie.  She had a love of animals and had a special spot in her heart for all of the family pets.  She had a great sense of humor and was a fighter till the very end. 
She was preceded in death by her daughter Natalie and is survived by her husband Angelo, her children Angelo, Gail Duryea and Jodi Switendale, her son-in-laws , Don Duryea and Allen Switendale and her 8 grandchildren, Christina, David, Danielle and Allison Duryea, Gianna and Dominic Barone and Anthony and Alyssa Switendale as well as her 2 sisters, Delores Reid and Alice Maltese and many nieces and nephews.
