Joseph Anthony Mac Crory Sr., 85 of Media, PA passed away peacefully on Thursday November 9, 2023. Joe was born in Philadelphia, PA and spent time living in Drexel Hill, PA, before moving to Media, PA 35 years ago. He also had vacation homes in North Wildwood, NJ and Beach Haven West, NJ. Joe attended St. Thomas More High School in Philadelphia, worked at Philadelphia Electric Company (PECO) in the Main Line Division for 30 years, and was a member of the St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church in Media, PA, the Knights of Columbus, and the Elks. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, golfing, fishing, home improvement projects, riding motorcycles, body surfing in the ocean, watching Philadelphia sports teams, winter vacations in Naples, Fl, and attending family and special occasion parties. Joe loved a good “dad joke”, had a “young” heart, was a great storyteller, gave great advice, and loved singing Irish songs and drinking Irish whiskey with family and friends. He was the patriarch of the Mac Crory family and loved by all.
Joe was predeceased by his parents John and Florence Mac Crory and his brothers John and James.
He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years Gerry (nee Sharkey) Mac Crory, children Joe Mac Crory Jr (Karen) of West Chester, PA, Kathleen Taylor (Chris) of Manahawkin, NJ and Kelly Mac Crory of Drexel Hill, PA, adoring grandchildren Melissa Kurfis (John), Matthew Mac Crory, Meghan Mac Crory, Mike Taylor (Krista), Kelly Murphy (Michael), Jon Taylor (Katie), Jaclyn Durkin (Jeremy), Steven DiSciullo (Brigid), and Nicholas DiSciullo (Donna), and great-grandchildren John Kurfis , Kit Kurfis, Jane Kurfis, Kyan Taylor, Remy Taylor, Aidan Murphy, Maggie Murphy, Tyler Taylor, Matthew Durkin, Ellie Durkin, Nora DiSciullo, Owen DiSciullo, and Miles DiSciullo
Service: Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation on Friday November 17, 2023 9:30 to 10:00 am with memorial mass at 10:00 am @ St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church 2400 N. Providence Road, Media, PA 19063.
