Joseph P. Hendricks Sr., 70 years old of Little Egg Harbor NJ, passed away Tuesday on March 4th 2025. Joe, mostly known as Mickey to his family, was born in Paterson NJ in 1955. He grew up in Pompton Lakes NJ where he played sports and spent many days at his grandparents' club in NJ. Joe later lived in Manahawkin NJ, Beach Haven NJ, and finally settled in Little Egg Harbor NJ in 1997 where he remained until his passing.
Joe worked as a carpenter and self-taught artist, building houses, making hand-painted furniture, and taking on any other custom paint or construction job he could help with. He had an amazing eye for art and spent many hours perfecting and sharing his craft. He also loved to fish, golf, and surf (when he was a younger man) and was known for being a charming jokester—never one to turn down a good time. He loved the beach and spent years soaking up the sun and salty air, perfecting his tan, toes in the sand, beer in hand, and smiling at the sun while living with his family on LBI.
Joe is preceded in death by his parents Joe & Myrna Hendricks, and his sisters Kim Palmer and Jill Whitsell.
He is survived by his children, son Joseph Hendricks Jr. (wife Jessica) and daughter Kim Rosetti (husband Sal); grandchildren Vincent Rosetti and Giavanna Rosetti-Yarber (Nye); former spouse Barbara Hendricks; brothers Shayne Hendricks and Mark Hendricks (wife Sue); nephews Christopher, Zachary, and Ryan; niece Nicole; close family friend & caretaker Allison Peters; and the many friends he collected along the way, especially those from the Little Egg Harbor Italian American Club.
Cremation will be private, and a memorial service will be announced at a later date. Please check back for details.
