Joseph Berdini Jr. “Father Joe”, 83 of Little Egg Harbor, NJ passed away on Sunday January 5, 2020. Born in Camden, NJ and raised in Pennsauken, NJ he lived in Woodlynne, NJ, Turnersville, NJ, Rockville, MD and Frederick, MD before moving to Little Egg Harbor in 2010. Joseph worked for General Electric as a Senior Analyst and served in the US Airforce. He was a kind, selfless and thoughtful man who always put others before himself. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching westerns, part time bar tending, flying airplanes and sailing sailboats. He could do anything that needed to be done to provide for his family including construction, roofing, electrical work and anything else. Wherever Joseph lived he would become active in his local church parish. He married his beloved wife Esther at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel R.C. Church in Camden, NJ and attended St. Peter and Paul R.C. Church in Turnersville, NJ, St. Francis of Assisi Church in Derwood, MD, St. Patrick’s R.C. Church -Norbeck in Rockville, MD, St. Timothy R.C. Church in Walkersville, MD and St. Theresa’s R. C. Church, Little Egg Harbor, NJ. He was a 4th Degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus, Grand Knight of Knights of Columbus Council #2323 in Montgomery, MD and served as District Deputy. After moving to Little Egg Harbor he joined the St. Theresa’s KOC Council #14615.
Joseph is survived by his loving wife of 63 years Esther Lombardi Berdini, sons Kevin Berdini of New York City, NY and Little Egg Harbor, NJ and Craig Berdini and wife Brenna of Easton, PA, daughters Brenda Berdini Norris of Frederick, MD, Dan Norris and Stephanie Finkenstaedt and husband Fredrick (Rick) of Frederick, MD, brother Arthur Berdini of Cherry Hill, NJ, grandchildren Krystal and husband Royal, Samantha, David, Kaitlyn, Sienna and Joseph, great granddaughter Avery as well as many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.
Viewing hours will be on Thursday January 9, 2020 from 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm and Friday from 9:30am to 10:30am at Maxwell Funeral Home 160 Mathistown Road Little Egg Harbor, NJ 08087. A Funeral Mass will be on Friday January 10, 2020 at 11am at St. Theresa’s Church, 450 Radio Road Little Egg Harbor, NJ 08087 followed by burial at Holy Cross Cemetery, Mays Landing.
