John J. Brooks

John Joseph Brooks, 67, of Tuckerton, NJ passed away on July 27, 2023. Born in Philadelphia, PA, John grew up in Ocean Gate, NJ and spent five years in the Philippines where he met the love of his life his wife Patricia. They then moved to Hawaii where they spent the next five years before settling down in Tuckerton, NJ 32 years ago. John was an Intelligence Specialist in the Navy where he proudly served for 11 years. He enjoyed going on cruises, painting, shooting, vacationing, having summer pool barbecues and parties at his home and most importantly anything that included his grandchildren.

John is predeceased by his parents Bartholomew and Joan Brooks.

He is survived by his wife of 38 years Patricia Brooks, daughter Christina Sotak and husband Dan of Little Egg Harbor, NJ, daughter Toni Brooks and partner Dan Kelleher of Forked River, NJ, daughter Elizabeth Brooks and husband Brett Tullo of Little Egg Harbor, NJ, son John Brooks Jr. of Little Egg Harbor, NJ, brother Bart and wife Donna of Island Heights, NJ, sister Joan of Whiting, NJ, brother Joe and Sue of Long Branch, NJ, grandchildren Avery, Makenna, Aiden, Mason, Brynn, Zoe, and Brett, and many nieces and nephews.

Cremation will be private. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday August 2, 2023 from 10am-12pm at Maxwell Funeral Home 160 Mathistown Road Little Egg Harbor, NJ 08087. Inurnment will follow at 130pm at Brigadier William C. Doyle Veteran’s Cemetery 350 Province Line Road Wrightstown, NJ 08562.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in John’s memory to The Disabled American Veterans.
