Jean L. Odell, 73 of Manahawkin, NJ passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday July 6th, 2022, surrounded by family. Jean spent her life living in various areas of New Jersey. Born in Elizabeth, Jean spent her formative years in Fords, and eventually settled in Long Beach Island after High School. Shortly after settling in LBI, she met the love of her life, Jeffrey Odell in 1975. Once married, Jean and Jeffrey Odell moved to Manahawkin, NJ where they raised their son Chad.
Jean held various careers over the years, including the first female meter maid for Metuchen. After relocating to Manahawkin, Jean held several positions in the Stafford township schools district. Some of these positions were in the cafeteria and classroom, as a teacher's aide. Last position held prior to retirement was at Deerskin Leather.
Jean had a zest for life and was extremely charismatic. She left a positive lasting impression on everyone who crossed her path. Some of Jean's passions include a love of music, animals, and driving (top down, wind in her hair.) But most of all she was passionate about her family and friends. She was a member of the Beach Haven Moose Lodge.
Jean was predeceased by her parents Joseph and Adele Tighe.
She is survived by her loving husband Jeffrey B. Odell of 47 years, son Chad Odell and his wife Sarah of Little Egg Harbor, NJ and sister Jane S. Tighe of Manahawkin, NJ.
Services are private and under the care of Maxwell Funeral Home.
