H. Carl Tarnow, 87 of Manahawkin, NJ passed away on Sunday April 25, 2021. He was born and raised in Belford, NJ and lived in West Keansburg and Toms River, NJ before moving to Manahawkin 43 years ago.
Mr. Tarnow was a US Air Force Veteran, he worked as a Commercial Fisherman when he was younger and then went to work for Ralph Clayton and Sons Concrete in West Creek, NJ. He was a member of the Tuckerton Seaport where he would spend time doing net mending demonstrations and building boats with Gus Heinrichs. He was a judge at the Tuckerton Decoy Show and was a Hurley Conklin Award Winner and was an avid Lionel Train collector and member of the Toy Train Collectors Club. He was extremely proud of his family’s history and heritage.
Carl was predeceased by his parents Harold B. and Anna L. Tarnow and sister Frances Starnick.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years Lorraine Tarnow, loving son Steve Tarnow and fiancé Barb Smith and grandchildren Erik (Emily), Keith and Lisa.
Visitation will be held on Friday April 30, 2021 from 2pm until the Memorial Service at 3:45pm at Maxwell Funeral Home 160 Mathistown Road Little Egg Harbor, NJ 08087.
