George McCarten

George McCarten, 83 of Bass River Twp. passed away at home on Thursday September 10, 2015. Born in Wading River, NJ he lived in Haddonfield, and Tinton Falls before retiring back to his family home in Bass River in 1990. He was a graduate and Gold Hawk Alumni of St. Joseph's University class of 1953 and worked for the Dept. of Defense as a Procurement Analyst. He was a member of St. Theresa's Church and a United States Army Veteran. George was a founding member of the Tuckerton Seaport and the Friendly Seniors and he enjoyed carving decoys, boating and telling stories and was an avid Phillies fan.
He was predeceased by his daughter Hannorah McCarten in 2000.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years Nancy McCarten, son Dennis McCarten of Bass River, daughter Eileen McCarten of Galloway and granddaughter Moira Rose Nelson (Joss Sallade).
Viewing will be held on Saturday September 19, 2015 from 10am until the Funeral Mass at 11:00am at St. Theresa's R.C. Church 450 Radio Road Little Egg Harbor, NJ 08087.
