Galen M. Nantes

Galen Mariazeta Nantes August 4, 1935 entered peacefully into rest at 87 years of age on Sunday, November 27, 2022. He was the son of Pantaleon Nantes and Isidora (nee Mariazeta). Galen was born in Quezon Province, Philippines. He came to the United States in 1968 with Virtudes and their children and worked as a civil engineer.

Galen was Catholic and a member of St. Theresa’s Roman Catholic Church in Little Egg Harbor, NJ. His hobbies included fishing, coin, stamp and art collecting and he was an avid NY Yankee fan. Galen was the pillar of his family and was known to many extended family members and friends as “Papa Galen”.

He is survived by his loving wife, Dr. Virtudes Rosal Nantes. Devoted father of Son Edwin Nantes and his wife Wrechelle; Daughter Karen Nantes and her husband Peter Jones; Daughter Kathy and her husband Dr. James Gusmano; Daughter Khristine and her husband Jim Briggs; Daughter Kathleen Nantes; Son John Galen Nantes and his wife Karen;  Loving Grandchildren Michael Gusmano, Christopher Briggs, Isabella Gusmano and Charlotte Jones.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 9, 2022 from 10-11am followed by Mass at 11 at St. Theresa's RC Church, 450 Radio Road, Little Egg Harbor, NJ  08087.
