Ellen M. Lozo, 79 of Manahawkin, NJ passed away on Friday October 6, 2017.ÃÂ Born in Jersey City, NJ she lived in Fairfield, NJ and Harrison, NJ before moving to Manahawkin in 2001. When she was younger Ellen was an entertainer and she danced and sang, including for the military.ÃÂ She later became a teacher and taught at the Churchill School and the Stevens School both in Fairfield, NJ. While in Harrison, she was employed at Worthington Pump and during her twenties she started the Harrison youth center for girls. She enjoyed baking, cooking and making journals for her granddaughter.ÃÂ
She is survived by her beloved husband of 55 years William Lozo of Manahawkin, daughter Sheryl Lynn Lozo of West Creek, granddaughter Kellyn May Weber and cousins Patricia Monaco, Alice Marcella and James Grannon Jr.
Viewing hours will be held on Wednesday October 11, 2017 from 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm and Thursday October 12 from 9 to 10am at Maxwell Funeral Home 160 Mathistown Road Little Egg Harbor, NJ 08087.ÃÂ A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday October 12 at 11:00am at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Brant Beach, NJ followed by burial at St. Mary's Cemetery in Manahawkin.
