Edwin L. Sofield, 78 of Tuckerton, N.J. Went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday Morning November 3, 2021. He was born in Woodbury, N.J. He has lived in Lindenwald, West Creek, Tuckerton, Pine Hill, Little Egg Harbor and his last address was in Tuckerton again. Edwin was a US Army Veteran and has worked many years as an Automobile Mechanic. He enjoyed spending time with his family & friends. Some of the things he enjoyed the most in his younger years was singing, Karaoke, dancing, playing Softball, Arm Wrestling, racing and going to Atco Raceway, going to Classic Car Shows,going to the casinos, dressing up like Arthur Fonzarelli and many locals in Tuckerton still refer him as "The Fonz or Fonzie", there were quite a few times he would dress up like that for Benefits for MS and other events.He made many friends there are a few that I know as some of his closest friends such as Gene Howey nick named (Slick), John and Harriet Beadling, Spencer Purdue, his neighbor at his last current apartment complex Gil Tice whom he enjoyed playing cards with and many many other friends. He also enjoyed going out to eat at John and Sonia's Luncheonette in Little Egg Harbor, NJ (His personal favorite), Diners, Stewarts, Olive Garden and many others. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all.
Predeceased by his parents Edwin Augustus Sofield and Anna MacMichael (Bermudez), his brothers Leonard (Larry) Sofield and Howard Sofield Sr.
He has left behind his two loving daughters Beverly Anne Sofield and Constance Lynn Snyder (Sofield), many grandchildren-Ashley Sahlberg, Tiffany Sahlberg, Christopher Sahlberg Jr, Zachariah Beuckman, Julianna McKee, Kevin Flesche ,Amberlynn Beuckman & Al Sprague, Doug McKee Jr., Allison (McKee) Dickson & her Husband Will Dickson all apart of the (Beverly Bunch) Tiersa and Scott Snyder- (Connie's children). many great grandchildren, Kevin, Drew Sofield, Mark, Brielle, Isabella, Trinity, Zephyr, Aurora, Carter, Blake, Zoey, Aria, Zack, Ryan, many nephews and nieces, great nephews and great nieces. To have such a big family as this is a blessing and he really enjoyed spending time with all of them.
There will be a Memorial Service held on Wednesday November 10, 2021at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Wrightstown, N.J. At 2:30 pm sharp, please arrive 15 minutes earlier so you can line up in your vehicle in the proper lane appointed for Edwin's service. We will be guided to the proper area by the Military personnel.
