Earl V. Lind 84, formerly of Rochester, NY and Little Egg Harbor, NJ passed February 20, 2024 in hospice care after a long illness. Earl was born in Rochester, NY and spent time living in Phillipsburg, NJ before moving to Little Egg Harbor, NJ 18 years ago.
Earl was an active parishioner of St. Theresa’s Church in Little Egg Harbor, NJ and produced newsletters, was a liturgical minister, offered home communion to shut-ins, and assisted with funerals. He was active in the Knights of Columbus achieving Grand Knight status. He received his BS in chemistry and MS in material science from the University of Rochester. His over 50-year career in the material science field resulted in over nine patents. He was published in various technical and scientific journals and member of American Chemical Society, Plastic Drum Institute, Industrial Steel Drum Institute, Society of Plastic Engineers, Industrial Packaging Alliance of North America (founding member), International Confederation of Plastic Drum Manufacturers (founding member), and several other trade associations in the packaging and material science fields. He regularly participated in the United Nations Subcommittee of Experts on the Transport of Dangerous Goods.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years Janet (Serles) Lind: daughters Lisa Jaquett (Frank), and Stacey Lind: five grandsons Bryan Lind (Lauren), Keith Schuchardt (Chantelle), Brett Schuchardt (Sarah), William Zang, David Zang; one great granddaughter (Maeve) and two great grandsons (Ronan and Brody); brothers Steven (Doreen) and Christopher (Susan), sister Karen Banker; three nieces, three nephews, and ten grand nieces and nephews.
Visition will be held from 10am-11am followed by a Funeral Mass at 11am on Saturday March 2nd, 2024 at St. Theresa’s R.C. Church 450 Radio Rd. Little Egg Harbor, NJ 08087. Interment will be private in Hillside Cemetery in Canisteo, NY. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in his honor to The Legacy of Fr. Mick Lambeth Mortgage Fund at www.sttheresa450.org
