Clara ""Claire"" (LaCorte) Wigert, 85, entered into eternal rest on March 30, 2019.ÃÂ She was born on July 23, 1933 in Newark, NJ to Joseph and Philomena LaCorte.
Clara grew up in Newark, NJ, and attended West Side High School. She was married to Alan ""Al"" Wigert on November 23, 1957 and they resided in Colonia, NJ from the late 1950's to 1989. After retirement, they relocated to Tequesta, FL where they lived up until a couple years ago when they returned to their NJ roots and settled in Little Egg Harbor Township.
Clara's foremost passion was family harmony. She derived happiness from seeing her loved ones happy, active, in good health, and enjoying her good home cooked meals. In addition to raising her two sons, Clara held various positions throughout the years including employment at a local bank in Newark, NJ, assisting Special Education students in the Woodbridge Twsp. School District Avenel Learning Center, teaching CCD classes at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, Colonia, NJ, and later in retail at the Little Elegance Boutique in Woodbridge Center Mall.ÃÂ She was actively involved at St. Jude's Catholic Church in Tequesta, FL, where she also served as a Eucharistic Minister. Above all, she was a most loving and caring wife, mother, and grandmother.
Clara is survived by her two sons Alan W. Wigert, Jr., and Scott G. Wigert, daugher-in-law Suzanne Wigert, grandchildren Nicholas, Adrienne, Jared, and Jax, and brothers Vito LaCorte and Joseph LaCorte. She also leaves an extended family including many nieces/nephews, and cherished friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Alan W. Wigert Sr, brother Pasqual, and sisters Rose, Marie, and Josephine.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday April 2nd, 2019 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at Maxwell Funeral Home, 160 Mathistown Rd Little Egg Harbor, NJ 08087. A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday April 3rd, 2019 at 11:00am at St Mary of the Pines Church 100 Bishop Way Manahawkin, NJ 08050. Interment will follow at St Mary's Cemetery Manahawkin, NJ.
