Barbara M Sampson

Barbara Sampson, 70 of Little Egg Harbor, NJ passed away at home on Monday August 28, 2017. Born in Englewood, NJ, she spent time living in Washington, D.C., New Hampshire and Goshen, NY before moving to Little Egg Harbor in 2008.

Barbara was a communicant of St Theresa's Church in Little Egg Harbor. Barbara obtained her Master's Degree in Education and a Doctorate in Administration and has taught at both High School and College level, including Colby Sawyer College in New London, NH. Prior to moving to our area, she worked in Washington D.C. as deputy director for an alliance of 6 national education associations, was a member of the Rotary in Walkill East and served as executive director for the Sarah Wells Girl Scout Council in Orange and Sullivan Counties in NY and Pike County, PA. Barbara has been a teacher, coach, director, department chair and administrator. The driving force in her life was to work with and for children in order to have a positive impact on their lives. Barbara loved backpacking, flamingoes, just having fun and playing many sports, mostly golf.

She was predeceased by her parents Harry and Elizabeth Sampson.

She is survived by her loving sister Elizabeth Maguire and husband Gerald of Little Egg Harbor, NJ and brother Harry T. Sampson and wife Susan of Montague, CA, numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.

Visitation will be held on Friday September 1, 2017 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at Maxwell Funeral Home 160 Mathistown Rd Little Egg Harbor NJ 08087. A Funeral Mass will take place on Saturday September 2, 2017 at 11am at St Theresa's R.C. Church 450 Radio Rd Little Egg Harbor NJ 08087. Cremation will be private and burial of ashes will take place at a later date.
