Alfio Abate

Alfio Abate, 95, of Hightstown, NJ passed away on December 2, 2023. Born in Sicily, Italy, Alfio spent time living in Brooklyn, NY and Little Egg Harbor, NJ before moving to Hightstown, NJ and East Brunswick, NJ. He was a police officer with the NYPD for 25 years and served our country in the US Marines for 20 years. He was most proud of being a Marine, and served our country in three wars : WWII, Vietnam, and Korea. He was also a member of the Italian American Club in Little Egg Harbor.  

Alfio is predeceased by his wife Ann, parents Joseph and Rose, brothers Peter, Joseph, Carmine, and John, and sister Connie. 

He is survived by his sons Nicholas and his fiancée Joy and Joseph and his fiancée Sharon, and grandchildren Joseph and his wife Anna, and Nicole and her husband Eric. 

Burial will take place on Thursday December 7th, 2023 at 1pm at Brigadier William C. Doyle Veteran’s Cemetery in Arneytown.
