Richard T. Yard passed away peacefully at his home on December 2, 2011. He was born in Brooklyn, NY on December 29, 1946 to the late John and Elizabeth Yard. He is survived by his devoted wife of 42 years, Helen (Hanvey) as well as daughters and sons-in-law Eileen and Jeff Kratzer and Elizabeth and Robert Wilhelmy. Richie was a loving grandfather to Emily, Lauren, Paige, Ava, Amelia and Anna Grace. He was pre-deceased by his parents and brothers Raymond and John and sister Betty. Richie served our country as a member of the Army in Vietnam. He was a lifetime member of the VFW and Disabled Veterans. Richie worked for the telephone company for 38 years earning an Associates Degree. Richie was a devoted family man who enjoyed surfcasting, reading, gardening and travel. His sense of humor and warm personality were known to all who met him. Richie bravely battled CLL which was caused by Agent Orange exposure for 8 years with Helen tirelessly by his side. A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, December 6th at 9:30am at St. Theresa’s Church, 450 Radio Road, Little Egg Harbor, NJ followed by burial at the NJ Veterans Cemetery, Arneytown. Viewing will be on Monday, December 5th from
