Joyce Woods, 73 of New Gretna, NJ passed away on Sunday November 27, 2011 at Southern Ocean Medical Center, Manahawkin. Born in Lakewood, NJ she lived in Toms River, before moving to New Gretna 37 years ago. Joyce was the owner of Sagewood Kenels in New Gretna. She enjoyed crabbing, fishing, boating and bowling and loved to watch the garvey races with her husband.
She was predeceased by her husband Jack Woods in 1993. She is survived by her son Jay Woods and daughter-in-law Kathy Anderson, both of Egg Harbor Twp., sister Joan Rudolph and sister-in-law Susan Smith both of Florida, grandchildren Kaela and Emily and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her dear friend George Meyer of New Gretna.
A Memorial Gathering will be held on Monday December 5, 2011 from 6 to 8pm at Maxwell Funeral Home 160 Mathistown Rd Little Egg Harbor, NJ 08087. Dearest Jay and George,
I want to say thank you to both of you for the care you have given my Dearest Aunt. You could not ask for two nicer people who gave their undying love to the Mother and Partner. I will miss my Aunt and always have fond memories of our times together especially the earlier years. I will miss her late night phone calls and the special smile she use to share with me when we would see each other. I always looked at her for approval and with that smile I always received it. George your such a part of our family. I want you to know your very special and we are not letting you get away. I want to say thanks for helping and supporting her through her cancer treatment. Your committment shows the love you shared for my Aunt. I am so glad my Aunt found someone like you. She was a very lucky women. Jay you have always been a dutiful Son and completely committed to helping your Mom through her cancer treatment. I am sorry things have been bad for you. Your big Sister is just a phone call away. You know we would love to see you anytime. If you need to get away the two of you the door is always open. I am glad my Aunt is no longer suffering. My deepest condolences to you both.
