A. Rocco capobianco


A. Rocco “Rocky” Capobianco, 81 passed away on July 26, 2011 at his home.  Born in Jersey City, Rocky lived in Nutley before moving to Little Egg Harbor.

 

He served as a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War and started the 5th Air Force Band in Japan.  He graduated from the New York Institute of Photography.  He went on to own and operate a photo lab, Roc-Mar Color Lab in Bayonne, North Arlington, and Lyndhurst.  He was also a musician, playing trumpet, alongside his brothers “The Cappy Brothers”.

 

Rocky served for 14 years as a Commissioner/Treasurer for the Little Egg Harbor Municipal Utilities Authority.

 

He was a parishioner of St. Theresa’s Church, a trustee of the Italian American Club, and the Republican Club, all in Little Egg Harbor.  He was also a member of the American Federation of Musicians AFL-CIO Local 248 and Sextant Lodge #286 F&AM.

 

Rocky was happily married for 56 years to his surviving wife, Rosemarie Capobianco nee DePalma.  He is also survived by his daughter, Cindy Giardina, and her husband Gary, of Wayne, NJ son, Rocky Capobianco, and his wife Lisa, of Thousand Oaks, CA.  He also leaves behind four grandchildren Gary and Vinnie Giardina, Nicholas and Christopher Capobianco.

 

Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 31, 3pm-8pm, and Monday, August 1, 3pm-8pm and Tuesday morning August 2nd from 8-9am at Maxwell Funeral Home 160 Mathistown Rd, Little Egg Harbor, NJ 08087.  A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 2 at 9:30am at St. Theresa Roman Catholic Church in Little Egg Harbor.  Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington.

 

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be sent to Southern Ocean Medical Center Foundation (SOMC Foundation) 1140 Rt 72 W, Manahawkin, NJ 08050 in memory of:  A. Rocco “Rocky” Capobianco .

    He was a treasure and a beacon of light. His significant presence will be missed, but his memory and friendship will be cherished forever. May God bless you.
