			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>Lauren Julia Matta, </strong>17 , lost her long battle with Leukemia surrounded by her family on Wed. May 16, 2012. Lauren is the beloved daughter of Chris and Tracy Matta, and adored sister of Christopher and Craig Matta. Also mourning her loss are her grandparents Robert and Linda Grodkiewicz and Julia Matta, aunts and uncles, Kerri and Josh Crowley, Mickey and Denise Matta, Bob and Kim Keeney as well as her cousins, Taylor, Joshua, and Brooke Crowley, Bobby and Katie Keeney.</p>
<p>Lauren was a senior at Pinelands Regional High School.  She was involved with Good Shepherd Lutheran church.  She loved spending time with her family, especially watching her younger brother play baseball, and she was extremely proud of her older brothers accomplishments in school.  She also enjoyed singing, and playing with her dogs Finley and Midnight.</p>
<p>Lauren will be desperately missed by many friends.  She will always be remembered for her beautiful smile, contagious laugh, and silly sense of humor.  Lauren had a huge heart that was kind, loving, generous, compassionate, caring and loyal.  She was always ready to help anyone in need.</p>
<p>Lauren’s strength, determination and inner beauty have been inspirational.  Her passing will leave and un-mendable hole in the hearts of her family, friends, school and community.</p>
<p>Mass will be held on Monday, May 21<sup>st</sup> 11:00 at St. Theresa’s Church, 450 Radio Road, Little Egg Harbor, followed by Entombment at Ocean County Memorial Park, Waretown.  Viewing will be on Sunday, May 20<sup>th</sup> from 4-8pm and Monday from 9-10:15am at Maxwell Funeral Home, 160 Mathistown Road, Little Egg Harbor.   For driving directions or to send condolences, please visit <a href="http://www.maxwellfuneralhome.com/">www.maxwellfuneralhome.com</a></p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Joseph S. Morawski, age 86, of Little Egg Harbor died on Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at home. </p>
<p>Mr. Morawski was a US Army veteran, and retired as a Chief Warrant Officer after 30 years of service. He served during World War II, Korea, and Viet Nam.  He was the recipient of the Army Occupation Medal; the WWII Victory Medal; the Korean Service Medal with 3 Bronze Stars; the United Nations Service Medal; the National Defense Service Medal; the European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal; the Expert Missileman’s Badge; the National Defense Service Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster; the Armed Forces Reserves Medal; and the Army Commendation Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster.  Born in New York City, NY, he lived there until entering the service.  After retiring in 1974, he lived in Fayetteville, NC before moving to Little Egg Harbor twenty years ago.</p>
<p>Mr. Morwaski was a member of VFW Post; the Association of US Army; and the Military Officer’s Association of America.  He was a parishioner of St. Theresa RC Church, Little Egg Harbor.</p>
<p>He was predeceased by his parents, John and Katherine Morawski; two sisters, Stella Morawski and Frances Kuderski; and a grandson, Thomas (Tag) Cochran.  He is survived by his wife, Gladys; a step-son, Thomas Cochran and his wife Barbara of Advance, NC; three grandchildren, Linda Reynolds of Vencinza&lt; Italy, Cheryl Johnston of Colorado Springs, CO, Scott Cochran of Marietta, GA;  eleven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Helen Checkota and her husband Frank of Palm Bay, FL.</p>
<p>Visitation will be on Friday, May 11, from 2-4 and 7-9 at the Maxwell Funeral Home, 160 Mathistown Road, Little Egg Harbor.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday, May 12 at 9:30am at Saint Theresa RC Church, Little Egg Harbor.  Interment with full military honors will be at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington VA.</p>
<p>Donations, if so desires, may be made in Joseph’s memory to St. Theresa RC Church, Little Egg Harbor, NJ  08087.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Vincent Robert Protano, age 86, passed away surrounded by his loving wife and family on May 6, 2012. He had a full and rewarding life and he leaves behind a legacy of family, love, and wisdom.</p>
<p>Born September 22, 1925 he is the son of the late Guiseppe and Rosa Protano. Vince attended the Manhattan High of Aviation Trades. It was during high school that he met the love of his life, Vera. Upon graduation he enlisted in the Army Air Corp and served during World War II as a radio mechanic stationed atTyndall Field,Florida.</p>
<p>After the war Vince enrolled in the Pratt Institute of Mechanical Engineering and began his career as a draftsman and tool maker designing and making tools. His talent and skills with people, drive, and passion for design and machinery were quickly recognized and through out his career he held a variety of senior level positions in engineering and manufacturing as well as owning his own machine shop and founding Italpresse,North America.</p>
<p>Vince&#8217;s greatest joy was his wife and family and he was most happy when he was surrounded by them. He loved the outdoors and he was an accomplished marksmen who enjoyed shooting, hunting, and fishing. Later in life he turned to wood working and he could always be found in his shop making something to give to his kids or fixing something around the house. There was nothing he could not fix, do, or build. He would always find a way and figure it out.</p>
<p>Vince is survived by his wife of 67 years Veronica Protano, his four children Rosemarie Protano of Clifton, NJ, Ronnie Risi and her husband Michael of Hillsborough, NJ, Joe Protano and his wife Kathleen of Newark, DE and Jackie Donohue of Bradenton, FL. Vince will be missed by his seven grand childen Debbie, Adam, Danielle, Kathryn, Molly, Kristen, and Erika and two great grand children Chrystian and Mea. He is also survived by his brother Nick Protano and his wife Grace.</p>

<p>A Mass of Christian burial will take place on Friday, May 11<sup>th</sup> at 9:30am, St. Theresa’s Church, 450 Radio Road, Little Egg Harbor, NJ with burial to follow at 12:30pm at the  NJ Veterans Cemetery, Arneytown, NJ.  Viewing will be held on Thurs. May 10<sup>th</sup> from 2-4 and 7-9pm and Fri. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Christopher F. Cowan, age 66, of Little Egg Harbor, NJ died on Thursday, April 26, 2012 at the VA Medical Center, Philadelphia.  Born in Jersey City, he was raised in White Plains, NY ,lived in Woodbridge Township before moving  to Little Egg Harbor in 2007.</p>
<p>Mr. Cowan was a US Army veteran.  He was a graduate of SUNY Albany, where he received a BS in Accounting.  He was a C.P.A. and  owner of Christopher F. Cowan &amp; Co., Avenel for many years until retiring.  He was a member of St. Theresa RC Church, Little Egg Harbor.  He was a member of the AICPA of NY and NJ, and was on the finance and pool committees at Sea Oaks, Little Egg Harbor.  While a resident of Woodbridge, he was a member of the Colonia Country Club, and was active in Boy Scout Troop 49 and T.A. Edison Council for many years.</p>
<p>He is survived by his wife Mary (nee Durand), sons Christopher F. Cowan Jr. (Mary) of NC, Michael D. Cowan (Laura) of TX, daughter Virginia Lund (Todd) of Little Egg Harbor, 6 grandchildren. A  Brother Brian A. Cowan of VA,  and a sister Cornelia McGilvray of MA.  He was predeceased by his brother Oliver T. Cowan Jr. in 2003.</p>
<p>Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4-8pm and on Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 at the Maxwell Funeral Home, 160 Mathistown Road, Little Egg Harbor.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11am St. Theresa RC Church, Little Egg Harbor, on wednesday with interment following at the Brig Gen WC Doyle Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown.</p>
<p>In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinsons Research.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>Vaughn, Warren L, </strong>90 of Manahawkin passed away on April 25, 2012 at home in the loving presence of his wife and daughter. Born August 5, 1921 inPhiladelphia,Warren lived most of his life inPennsauken,NJ. He spent most of his retirement years inTequesta,FL and the last decade in Manahawkin.</p>
<p>Warrenserved in the US Navy during WWII aboard the USS Bull in theAtlanticand Pacific theatres of operation. He spent most of his career at Alpha Lithograph Company inCamden,NJ.</p>
<p>Warrenwas admired by all who knew him for his kindness and loving spirit. His family remembers him as the backbone of the family- loving, supportive, patient, generous, strong, and always giving in spirit and guidance.</p>
<p>He is survived by Katharine, his loving wife of 69 years. He was the loving father of his two surviving childrenWarrenVaughn Jr., ofRichmond,VAand Joyce McFadden of Manahawkin and two deceased sons Michael and Richard. He is survived by four grandchildren, Michael S. Kotzen of Cherry Hill, Joshua D. Kotzen of Cherry Hill, Claudia Hallman of Collingswood and Joanna Vaughn of Northampton, MA, and six great-grandchildren, Alicia Dunithan, Megan Kotzen, Lee Kotzen, Aliza Kotzen, Emma Kotzen, and Eleanor Hallman, and one great-great grandchild, Dominic Dunithan.</p>
<p>His family would like to express special appreciation to Meridian Hospice for their care and support over the last weeks ofWarren’s life.</p>

Boelte, 69 of Little Egg Harbor, NJ passed away on Monday April 23, 2012 at Southern Ocean Medical Center, Manahawkin.  Born in Port Chester, NY and raised in White Plains, NY, he lived in Valhalla, NY before retiring to Little Egg Harbor, NJ in 2005.  He received his BS from the University of Denver and graduated Magna Cum Laude with an MBA from Pace University.  He worked as a corporate officer for Pan-American World Airways, Chicago Business Jets, Babcock &amp; Wilcox, and Metromedia.  </span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman;">John was very involved in the <em>purebred dog world</em> for 35 years.  He was President of the Sawmill River Kennel Club and Westchester Pet Products, Past Officer of the Westchester Kennel Club, and Past Board Member of the NY and CT Vizsla clubs.  </span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman;">He enjoyed flying, traveling, boating, trap shooting, golf, and was a history enthusiast, serving as a Board Member of the Pan-American Historical Society.  </span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman;">He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years Patricia Boelte of Little Egg Harbor, father-in-law Joseph S. Reho of Lakewood, NJ, sister-in-law Christine Jean Force and John Dustman of Oriental, NC and 3 nephews Sean, Justin and Kevin Force.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman;">A Funeral Service will be held on Friday April 27, 2012 at 11:00am at the First United Methodist Church of Tuckerton 134 North Green Street Tuckerton, NJ 08087.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;">Viewing Hours will be on Thursday April 26, 2012 from 7 to 9pm and Friday April 27 from 9:30 to 10:30am at Maxwell Funeral Home 160 Mathistown Rd Little Egg Harbor, NJ 08087.</span></p>
